Personality
Tala is a loner. She is used to being on her own, perfectly pleased in her solitude. In fact, most would consider her a hermit if she was not a bounty hunter. She tends to prefer the accompaniment of animals and nature than that of “intelligent” or humanoid beings. When doing anything, she prefers to work alone, feeling that others hold her back. As a result, she does not people she would consider friends, nor does she actively seek companionship. Instead, any relationship, romantic or otherwise, is short-lived and casual.
In her solitude, she has developed a sense of unwarranted superiority, if only in her way of life rather than her abilities. This makes her slightly bigoted and somewhat unpleasant if she has had too much to drink and is goaded into conversation, which is not an often occurance. However, she is quiet in her views and not interested in those around her unless they are up for bounty.
Tala is very determined and will never give up. She is addicted to the hunt, the chase only making the rewards that much sweeter once she has captured her prey. Because of this, she is quite meticulous and patient. She will analyze her quarry, speaking to those that have knowledge of the matter, and determine the best way to find whatever it is that is up for bounty.
As patient as Tala is, she has a fierce temper which she can only attribute to her dragon heritage. However, since she never knew her parents, it could have come from anywhere.
Tala is not the most pleasant person to meet. Most of the time, she is quiet and keeps to herself. When she does speak, it is usually in a dark tone. She is cynical and is a “no-nonsense” type of person, considering activities that involve frivolity of any kind to be useless. It is rare to see her smile or laugh, though an occasional chuckle will escape her depending on the situation.
Appearance
In her elf-like form, Tala would look to be in her early to mid twenties. She has a heart shaped face with the usual pointed ears of an elf. Her skin is a light tan pigment due to her common practice of being outside for long periods of time in her “elf flesh” as she calls it. Her hair is platinum blonde, looking almost pure white at a distance, which falls to the small of her back when in its usual braid. Her eyes are an ice blue color, looking quite pale. She normally uses a hooded cloak to cover her features when on a “hunt.” In this form, she is an unintimidating force at 5’ 2” and uses this to her advantage whenever she can.
In her dragon form, her scales are pure white. Though Tala is very young by both dragon and drake standards, she is a force to be reckoned with in her dragon form. She stands at 9’ 11” from head to toe, from muzzle to tail she is exactly 25 ft. She has long spikes running down her back and fanned spikes hiding her ear holes that frame her elongated face.
History
Tala never knew her birth parents. She was found abandoned on the border of Kabal and Eupeereeth, in the Dragon’s Spine, as an infant by a family of elves. She was in her humanoid form, so the family did not know she was a dissimulate. The family was caring and seemed to love her like one of their children. Unfortunately, her nature could not be hidden. When she turned 11, Tala began to experience changes in herself, not knowing that she was, indeed, a drake. When she discovered her difference, she had accidently sprouted a pair of white wings. When her adopted family found out, Tala was once again abandoned at age 12. Her adopted siblings shunned her, as did her parents. She was left alone in Liath.
Travelling to Kabal, Tala attempted to fit in with her dissimulative brethren, but that she could not bring herself to stay from lack of any regard for the feelings of her neighbors. By the time she was 20, she took her first bounty hunting job and fell in love with the hunt. Since then, she has taken many jobs and collected quite a bit of money, though she does not spend it on much other than what she needs, usually food or a room.
Understandable for a young drake like herself, she has a difficult time changing into each form. The change is quite painful, but she knows that she can only get better at it if she keeps practicing and using each form. For bounty hunting, she prefers her elf-like form. Once, when she was new to hunting, she tried to change from her dragon form to her elf-like form after capturing a criminal. During her painful change, she found that the criminal had gotten away so she had to repeat the process of catching him all over again. She got the bounty, but she decided that she was never going to do that again until she was able to change like the older drakes.
The only person that ever came close to being a companion was Tala’s drake mentor, a male by the name of Ragoda, when she was 24. He was much older than her. She began to learn from him about the drake and how use her abilities. Ragoda died when she was 26 and she has never been able to get over his death. He treated her like a real daughter. Ever since, she has been searching wanted posters for Ragoda’s killer, but has not come across him yet.
