Kei was always told that thieves were a mercenary's number one source of gold. There was this one thief though that no one could seem to catch, her face was up everywhere. A poster was ripped off the brick wall by the wind and it hit Kei. She held it and noticed the face was of a Magundi and the Elf frowned. Such a creature that is half Elf, half Fox shouldn't exist, she saw the reward, five hundred gold coins?! A hefty reward for such a small looking thief.
The city air provided a calming aura around the spunky Elf and she decided that such a catch would be easy picking with a partner. Anyone would be acceptable if they could keep up. Kei couldn't help but absently wonder why the hybrid had such a high reward. She picked up her bow and arrow when she hear meanacing steps coming from behind her. She aimed it at the Elf man who was at least a head taller than her. A burning fire filled her blue-green eyes and started smiling at the idea that she could be part of some action.
The girl's red hair blew in the wind and it appeared almost like a fire. She didn't once let her quiver drop and was expecting some answers. "Who are you and why were you following me?" She demanded to know what the taller elf was doing, refusing to drop her guard down in the slightest.

It was the second day of his rest from the halfbreeds' counter attack out in the meadows of Kabal. While electricity was no longer playing through the mans' veins, he still had his eyes set on a much more worthy prize that a Dwarf could offer. And he was determined to take down this creature known as Ao... not for the reward, but for the glory, the thrill.
The tall, lanky man traveled into the Northern District of the Kabal City, clothed in brown, worn tailorship cotton and a pair of tighten, disgusting green slacks. Before one was to travel as he did, to disappear from society cycles at a time, he would require materials to keep him alive. This meant food, water, and small toys of the blacksmith for easy fires and camp outs. The ability to manipulate the night was nothing more than puppetry when compared to the day, where he laid most vulnerable. Not to mention that the black mist could not form anything truly solid, and heat was of essence to survive, especially in that of Yijel.
Curiously, the Elvaan browsed over, retrieving small bags of fruits, wheat, and other editable that could fit into a small sack. In the same sack, was a separate barrage of flint, coal, and other small materials. Well prepared for the dusk ahead of him.
That is, until his curiosity fell upon an Elvaan girl, hair as tinted as the sun. She had seem to be occupied with a flyer, and as an instinct, flyers were always a mercenaries' best friend, and of need of investigating. Silently, the man paced himself over behind the fragile, female form, reading over her shoulder. Another Magundi - a common case when it came to the City. But whats this? Were his crimson hues reading this right? Reward:500 Coins. What mockery could a Mag have done, to be at such a high warning?!
Certainly the small girl in front of him was not up to such a task, as there had to of been a well explanation, rather it be danger or something more vile. But her quick actions had proven him wrong, his towering shadow now catching her attention as she had spun around, a stoned arrowhead pointing at his face.
"Who are you, and why were you following me?" the woman questioned in a heavy tone. Following? Usually his misfitted actions were on purpose, and to his disappointment, the habit had become natural to him that he didn't even notice he was shadowing the woman for more than a brief time. The puzzlement of her accusation fell easily from the Elvaan's face, features dimming into that of a mischievous smirk, "If I tell you who I am, what is confirming this arrow not going into my skull, regardless, hmmm?" the voice teased, as a boney finger raised from the mans' side, pressing his right index finger onto the tip of the stone.

"The fact I need a partner to get this reward. Someone who is this valuable ought to be taken in." Kei said staring at the man. "If you won't properly introduce yourself then I will. My name is Kei Akita and I am a mercenary." She seemed more tense than before as she felt the pressure he applied to the end of her arrow. The elf took a step back and felt the wind die down. All the flyer said was the Magundi girl's name, the reward and that she is a thief. The picture was as clear as day.
After a few moments of studying the older Elf, Kei thought about how he could help. The wanted poster had to be horribly crumpled, although the younger elf paid no mind, if need be she would just pull another one off the wall. "So I ask again, who are you?" Kei demanded again, but with a kinder tone than before. There was only one reason for that; it being that she found someone who could help her claim the reward. Of course the larger male wouldn't go unrewarded, she would split the money 50-50. Still 250 gold coins was quite a lot for one person.
The girl thought about the things she could buy with that type of money. It brought a smile to her face and a twinkle to her blue-green eyes. She waited for the other to respond as she heard a group of birds chirping in the background. Odd for a populous city, but not impossible. It was quite calming actually.

"The fact I need a partner to get this reward. Someone who is this valuable ought to be taken in...If you won't properly introduce yourself then I will. My name is Kei Akita and I am a mercenary," the Elvaan girl replied forcefully. The smirk twisted its' angle, now becoming that of a slick smile as the Elvaan pressed further into the arrow, puncturing a thin slice into his index, a crimson taint upon his tanned skin. "Well, at least you're not as stupid as you look," his voice continued, still in the same teasing manner. "You're a bit small to be a merc, aren't you?"
Removing his hand from the arrowhead, the man licked at his finger, cleansing away the line of blood that had trailed down to his second joint. "So I ask again, who are you?" Raising a silver brow, the lanky man scoffed, his smile dying down to that of an annoyed scowl. "Persistent, aren't you? My name is Mithos. If you live here, I would think you'd known that much. So far, you sound like nothing more than some Liath excuse for a Merc."
The Elvaan man, now cued with a name, was in no friendship with the term flattery. Speaking his mind and letting the cold truth stain that of its opponents was his only option of tongue, other than his sarcasm, and that would never change.

"Who cares where I come from or how short I am!?" The elf girl exclaimed starting to scowl herself. In attempt to prove herself she shot down one of the chirping birds in the wing. "I injure my targets, rendering them useless, then I take them to the person who employed me or set out the mission." She retrieved the bird. It had been good for her because if she hadn't shot it she would have shot the man who was standing in front of her. He was getting on her nerves.
After pulling the blood covered arrow out of the bird's wing, Kei took the bird to a poorer family that was living on the street. The elf wasn't desperate enough to eat it. "So do you want to help me or not?" She asked annoyed at the larger Elf. She had heard of Mithos but never actually seen him before.
"I have heard of you and for someone who was supposed to be a big-shot you dress rather shabby." The younger elf said after inspecting him more. His clothes were patchwork. Kei dressed better and she traveled mostly. This would be the second time that she would live somewhere indefinitely. The first was her childhood home of Liath. Eight years were the two elves in the same place and during that time the girl made quite a name for herself. If anything he should remember her, for she was known for getting into fights with the gaurds, and what was he? He was an Elf who had fled the safety of the village because of his temper.
Maybe Kei had too much pride, but she was sure that she already made a name for herself as a mercenary too. She let her mind wander off to wonder if her records were found and seen void. Or if someone purposefully lost them.

At his own remark, Mithos continued to observe the girl, her overall appearance much in opposition when it came to being a Mercenary. Then again, she could be just a kid, making up a world of her own. Those bright minded individuals who had a goal in their life, believed they were a true hero...hah!. The thought made his stomach quench in ignorance, such beliefs nothing more than child antics.
"Who cares where I come from or how short I am?!" Without a moment too soon, the Elf watched as an arrow flew past his face, the screech of a fallen bird and the silenced chirp now a few paces behind him. "I injure my targets, rendering them useless, then I take them to the person who employed me or set out the mission," Kei explained thoroughly as her thin frame walked right past his towering one, and delivered the injured bird to that of what seem to be a family of struggles.
"Poor bird..." he sighed dejectedly, now grasping both of his hands to the sides of his hips, giving Kei an ominous, blank stare at her following demand, "So do you want to help me or not?" Pondering, the cash would be a lovely bonus to his pocket. But then again, he already had plans with the drake in hiding, and much more than just a theft with fruits. "I'll make you a deal, pipsqueak," the Elf started, promptly laying a finger at Kei's forehead, regardless of any struggle that followed, "I'll be back here in Kabal in a Cycle or less. If this Mag is still on the loose, I'll help you."
It was a win/win. Hunt down the drake for his personal glory and challenge, then come back with money sitting at the table. And even if the girl rejected his offer, he hardly doubt she'd be stupid enough to go out by herself.
"I have heard of you and for someone who was supposed to be a big-shot you dress rather shabby," the woman spat, before taking any consideration to the offer. Despite his looks without his plated armor, he thought he looked normal! Shabby, did this woman think that the life of a traditional merc was to dance along in daises dressed in floral arrangements? "Whats' wrong with the way I dress? Its' shirt and pants, isn't it? Or are you the type that enjoys a good strip tease?" the man cooed, his last statement followed by the returning, teasing attitude and smile.

Okay the man in front of the younger elf is so annoying. "I just thought you'd dress nicer and not in patchwork." Kei stated then started to consider the offer. Mithos was annoying, but he had a good idea. Kei already figured out why the thief was at a high price. That fox girl couldn't be captured. The hybrid was simply too quick. A bow and arrow, with a girl who could easily be sharp shooter could capture the Mag or so she assumed. "Why should I wait a cycle just to get help catching an illusive Magundi. You've seen how good of shot I am!" The girl was half tempted to shoot his leg and run off, although thinking about it, she realized it was terribly rude.
Kei probably wasn't the best Mercenary, especially with her temper, but she wouldn't have been a much better Dragon Rider like everyone wanted her to be. She was so annoyed at Mithos she would change occupations if she had to, just to get away.

Mithos rolled his eyes at the woman as she spat about his patchwork clothing. Simply because it was made of literal patches, didn't mean he was some low life in the slum like the family that took in the bird for an easy meal. He had his own standards, just that appearance wasn't apart of it.
"Why should I wait a cycle just to get help catching an illusive Magundi. You've seen how good of shot I am!" It was as if the girls' voice was raising in pitch at every exclamation she had thrown at him in the recent five minutes. "Fine, don't take the offer, just don't complain when I come across you with a pocket of 500 gold," he returned, raising his arms in a shrug, his expression lacking of care, but still tilted in that bit of teasy grin.
Enough with the girl known as Kei, he turned his back and walked in the direction of the Residential district. Now that the discussion was settled between the 500 Gold theft, he would continue his own path in picking up a few things from home, then heading out into Namos to begin his search of the drake.
Before his pace reached out of audio range, he threw up a hand in a wave, mocking the girl, "Goodluck, pipsqueak. Enjoy those future riches!"

Kei also walked away from the where she and the larger male met up at, but didn't get very far, in fact she only ended up a few feet away from the taller male before becoming dizzy. She steadied herself against the wall, though it wasn't enough. After getting roughly fifteen feet away she sat down against the wall rubbing her head trying to rid herself of a monstrous headache. She glance only once at the larger and thought how pathetic she must look. She knew that a fever had started to spike now. This was the first time she had gotten sick since she left home and she had no idea what caused it. She let out a whimper due to the intensity of the searing headache.
No longer able to see straight she buried her face into her legs. The only sound she could make were little whimpers of pain, how child-like she must appear right now too. "Help," whimpered quietly, it was evident that she was talking to the older Elf though he was probably was already out of earshot.
