Name
Indiana Ford. 'Indy'.
Gender
Male. asexual.
{HOWEVER, this is open for discussion, though the plot will have to be good, and it's not going to happen right away because Indy is indifferent to this sort of thing, and is still virgin even. He's hardly even kissed anybody really, and is more than awkward when it comes to relationships. Much less romantic ones, and will most likely lash out at first to push them away.
I'd prefer it to be *male, thus why he's slightly homophobic.}
Race
Jackalope.
Age
Nineteen.
Occupation
Hunter.
Home Region
Darir.
Allegiance
Kabal.
Weapon of Choice
A custom built Crossbow which automatically fires bolts from a rotating drum. The bow is said to be gas operated, but since it isn't a gun, the tank fitted in the stock is assumed to be the "gas", like a C02 tank.
Gifted Element
Earth.
Personality
He often seems to match the general stereotypes. Crude, insulting, racist, sexist, homophobic and a blatant disregard for the rules, authority, and, at times, general decencies. Indiana is rude, abrasive, and his violent temper is easily triggered. This mostly comes from the fact that he was born into a 'redneck' family.
However Indiana is a very good example of the phrase ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’.
Though this can be hard to see as obvious, with most people's impressions and thoughts of him. He's not some nice guy you'd be willing to bring home to mom. He's this redneck ass, who rightfully most groups *and most anyone for that matter, stays away from. Although he’s quite a bit younger than his older brother, it is apparent that the two are alike in this respect, though Indiana is also very different from him.
He isn’t racist *or at least ‘as racist’ as Harris, though to say your 'not as racist' is like saying your only half bad. However he’s not as outspoken when it comes to women. While his brother is very crude and disrespectful to women, Indiana seems almost indifferent to them, and to the prospect of relationships; he's still a virgin, of course he wouldn't go around telling everybody that. Harris has been trying to get him laid for years, and still makes fun of him for it, calling him a slew of names, as well as gay, however not in such a term as nice as that. Honestly Indiana is just the type to not care, indifferent to any sort of sexual or emotional interaction.
Harris taught Indiana to share his beliefs though, and constantly attempted to toughen him up by being abusive and violent, and when it comes to his brother, Indiana has a high sense of hero worship for him; he admires how tough and seemingly indestructible he is. The age gap means that, as a child, Indiana saw Harris as not only a brother, but also a father figure.
Harris is the only person whose opinion counts, and is the only person who Indiana strives for approval from. Now while Harris did bring Indiana up to mirror himself, his constant absences in Indiana's life are hard to forgive.
Indiana has come to the mental conclusion that he can't trust anyone, not even family. Because of this, he surrounds himself in that abrasive personality, in an attempt to deflect people from getting too close. Mostly because he's insecure with his own feelings, scared to let anyone get close in case they leave him. Therefore, he can come across as being cold and distant, when in actual fact he’s more cautious and shy
Really though Indiana suffers for his brother’s love. Since he both loves and loathes Harris. Harris's brand of love is harsh, demanding…abusive. Something that a child can't grow from, and really what left him to end up the way he is. But when the chips are down and there’s almost nothing left to cling to it is to Harris that Indiana's subconscious turns to help him survive.
So even though it's a love hate thing, and part of him can't forgive his brother for the way he's been to him, there's still love there. Harris may very well be the only love Indiana has ever really known—he helped mold Indiana into the survivor that he is, but he also stunted his baby brother’s development. Somewhere deep inside Indiana knows Harris kept him from being the man he could be. *A truth he’d take a swing at you for voicing, but this is a reality he is working very hard to change.
In threatening situations, like his brother, Harris quickly resorts to violent, or often threatening behavior over all else, often subscribing to 'shoot first, ask questions never'. Though, in contrast, he is much more level-headed and rational, often stating the truth about a situation, even if it isn't popular. Most of the time it isn't, but he tells it like it is, he isn’t a pessimist or optimist, but rather a realist.
Although his temper can be a major setback, one that's actually half the reason people tend to stay away from him more often than not, as well as his tendency to resort to violence in certain situations, Indiana is very level headed 99% of the time.
It seems that his temper only holds him back when the issue at hand is personal, so there's that one percent, and when that one percent comes out, oh hell hath no fury. Now if he’s watching and not involved, he will most likely just stay passive and allow others to deal with the consequences. At any other time, he tries to keep himself ‘Zen’.
He is intelligent, but not necessarily in the academic sense. His skills with hunting and survival are most likely learned from his brother, and it seems that he values hand on experience and practical skills over being book smart. He prefers to work alone, and likes to keep himself to himself.
While most might disagree at first meeting, eventually they come to see that he is a good man, a brave, thoughtful and capable man. Even if he doesn't yet see that himself.
Appearance
{MY ART.}{Enjoy Indy, in the nicest outfit he owns!}
First impressions can make relationships, well if that's the case it's obvious Indiana has never had any relationships. He stands a rather average height, actually right at an average height.
With sandy blond hair, that's almost a light chestnut. It's messy and short on the sides, however it's long up and down, much akin to 'mohawk' fashion, and looks like he took way too much time with it. Then there's his eyes, and boy are they ten kinds of wonderful.
Bright green with slate gray undertones, that shine in different shades of the light. Like most, it's obvious to tell how he's feeling by looking at his 'puppy dog' like eyes.
The most obvious of his features are his horns and his ears, that are that of a rabbits, and match his original hair color, that you see on the sides. His Horns are fairly big, and still growing, and they do molt much like a dear's would.
His face is more round than not, and he has this serious baby face going on. With small dark freckles dusting his cheeks. He's actually really well built however, and muscular, his arms and biceps mostly from hunting. If he gets a good hold on you, more than likely you'll be down for the count needless to say. Indiana is, by all stretches of the imagination, a redneck. Though the hairdo, and soft face might say otherwise. He’s usually seen wearing sleeveless shirts, old jeans, and boots, and he's pretty sure he hasn't bought anything new in so long that he should most likely do that at some point. So that's saying something.
Indiana carries himself in a stiff almost military like manner, or like he's always on guard, mostly because of how he was raised when Harris was around, and taking care of himself when he wasn't.
Also I should note, he does in fact have a rabbits tail. It's the same color as his ears. He also has freckles on various parts of him, other than his face, though those are more noticeable because of the placement and shade.
History
Indiana was a product of instability. He was physically/mentally/emotionally abused by all members of his family, and being the youngest of his household, he was the last man on the hierarchy of power. His words meant little to nothing in the grand scheme of things.
He was born on a hot summer's night, and his father was too drunk to get any help, or help for that matter,his surprisingly, not drunk mother. So his brother had to help deliver dear Indiana, until help could arrive. Talk about having it rough straight out of the womb.
Well as obvious from that, Indiana was raised in an extremely dysfunctional family consisting of Harris *his older brother, an abusive alcoholic father who was rarely *if he ever even was, home (To be realistic, he was most likely out with other women or working, not that he ever brought home any money hardly, Indiana moved so many times he couldn't count how many anymore) and a mother who spent more time getting wasted and not sticking up for herself than anything else. Now growing up his mother was the one who ‘raised’ him.
She was abused regularly by her husband, IE; Indiana's father and, despite being treated poorly by her, Indiana had, more than once, defended her. However this came with little gratitude and usually ending with him beaten to a pulp. Nowadays he has permanent discoloration on his body from old bruises and scars that never healed, though the dirt, blood and grime of almost constantly being out hunting cover that up.
Nothing much happened in between the time he was born till now, unless you count the abuse, and there was plenty that could go around. But Indiana tries to block that out, and remember the good side to his life, when Harris was actually good to him and took care of him when there father was too drunk or gone too. When Harris for once comforted him, when there mother ended up leaving them on his sixteenth birthday, and by leaving, she took a rope and hung herself in her bedroom by the banister. Baked a cake and everything for the boy, he'd never had a cake on his birthday before. His dad always said they couldn't afford it, or he didn't deserve one.
She left a note and went upstairs, was the best day of his life until about an hour later, when he wondered where his mom went. But Indiana blocks that out, because he was the one who found her, blocks it out because the note only said 'I'm sorry.' Not that she loved him or anything, because Indiana knew she never did. Knew his father never did, only good thing the man ever did was teach Harris things, who in turn taught him what he knows today.
{*Also they were taught at a young age to hunt, because Jackalopes are normally sought after, because there horns are an aphrodisiac. Not really considered a race in there own right, most are hunted down for sport or black market profit. Thus the hunted become to hunter. The more you know!}
His fathers drinking got worse, to the point where one day he drowned in the lake out back behind there house one night. Too drunk to swim or call for help, wouldn't of mattered anyway, Indiana isn't sure if he would of helped. Besides he was out hunting with Harris, one of the few times his big brother was out of jail, or military training.
He ended up being so good at hunting he made a profession out of it, not that he could do much else, he was smart but he dropped out of school, so he leaned on the one thing he was good at, and that was all she wrote.
Eventually Harris said he was back for good, though he was often out doing drug runs to make money while Indiana /tried/ to be good and keep up with his hunting work, sometimes his brother had him faltering though, helping him from time to time. Indiana could never say no to him. They stayed out at there old house still, Indiana fixed it up better than his father ever did, though he could never bear to go into his mothers old room. Not after what happened.
Recently his brother has gone missing however, and this has left him to leave him home. What he doesn't know what he's really looking for is himself however, and he's on a quest to be the best kind of person he can be.
